DISCOVER JEWISH CULTURE AND HISTORY

If you wish to send in an article, essay or research paper for us to publish on dcie.greenteam-ong.ro, within the project “Discover Jewish Culture and History” initiated by the Green Team Youth Association, here is what you need to know:

  • We receive submissions all throughout the year at the following e-mail address:

contributii@greenteam-ong.ro . Your submissions will be read and evaluated for publishing by Martina Iacomi, English-Hebrew translator („Babeş-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca) and by Andrei Melinte, Ph.D. student in Jewish History („Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Iaşi).

  • You can submit as many papers as you like. Your paper(s) should have between 1 and 20 pages (including bibliography).

  • Each paper must have an abstract (summary), preferably in English, of no more than 100 words (maximum 10 lines), along with a short autobiography (please state your affiliation to the institution where you study: your school, high school or faculty) and optionally, a photo.

  • Please send your work in a .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.

  • In terms of topic, your work must be related to one of the following themes:

» Jewish culture and civilization (literature, theater, poetry, cinematography, radio and television, music, dance, visual arts, architecture, cuisine, humor, politics, philosophy, religion, holidays, mysticism, economy, science, technology)
» The history of the Jewish people (antiquity, middle ages, modern or contemporary history)
» Hebrew language (biblical or modern Hebrew, grammar, phonology, liturgical use)
» or any other theme relevant for our project.

  • Any information, idea, method or text taken from other author(s) or sources must be mentioned as such, using a system of referencing. When quoting electronic documents (internet sources), please mention the source, pasting the link and the date of the last access (eg. According to Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_mysticism, last accessed on September, 20th 2016).

  • You can use any citation style you wish (MLA, APA, Chicago, ISO 690, etc.).

This is an example of a research paper that abides by the referencing system.

  • If you encounter technical difficulties, you can contact us here.
